Why is my e-book, The Green Lady, Free-of-charge?

Friends and family have informed me that I am crazy to offer my book free-of-charge! After all, it takes a lot of creativity, time and energy to write a book. It also requires a massive amount of effort to do all the editing, formatting, graphic design, web design and many, many other activities required to present it in all the e-book formats on my website for readers to enjoy. However, I am convinced that this is the right thing for me to do, as I believe that this very special book was given to me as a gift. 

The Green Lady was not at all the book I was planning to write. However, it was the book that arrived, unbidden, one freezing-cold winter’s morning. It didn’t feel as if I was writing the book at all, but rather as if I was simply talking dictation from some higher version of myself. And although my ego-mind judges the book to be simple and naive, my heart sings with joy at the truth and beauty contained within these seemingly simple stories. And so, how can I possibly charge anyone to read this book? It must remain a free gift, just as it was gifted to me. 

All I ask of you, the reader, is to pass my book on, in its entirety and completely free-of-charge, to anyone whom you think would enjoy it.
